IQAC, Maryam Ajmal Women’s College of Science and Technology (MAWCST), Hojai
On September 25, 2026, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of MAWCST organized an Institutional-Level Speech Competition at Nazir Ajmal Memorial Hall, following directives from the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Assam (Letter No. E-845841/2). Anchored by Anamika Deka, the event catered to Category III (Undergraduate) students and aimed to enhance public speaking, critical thinking, and civic awareness.
Participants presented on five prescribed state themes covering India’s demographic dividend, Assam’s changing economy, sustainable development, innovation, and renewable energy. Speeches were capped at 4 minutes (with a final bell at 5 minutes), and electronic devices were strictly prohibited. Presentations were evaluated by a panel of three judges.

2nd Place: Paarsa Begum (English, 5th Sem)
3rd Place: Nazmin Chowdhury (English, 3rd Sem)
Under Category III SOP guidelines, these top three rankers bypass the LAC level and advance directly to represent the college at the District-Level Competition from October 6 to October 11, 2026.
The event commenced with the State Anthem, featured addresses by chief guests, and concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Assistant Professor Juri Moni Laskar followed by the National Anthem. Signed score sheets and geo-tagged photographs are being submitted to the official state portal.
