On September 24, 2026, the NSS Unit of Maryam Ajmal Women’s College of Science and Technology, Hojai, in joint collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), observed National Service Scheme (NSS) Day with great enthusiasm and active participation. Aligning with the core NSS motto, “Not Me, But You,” the event highlighted the importance of community engagement, social responsibility and holistic student development. The program commenced with a formal welcome extended to the faculty members and students. Ms. Paarsa Begum underlined the significance of the day, emphasizing how voluntary service nurtures empathy, leadership and social responsibility among young women. A central highlight of the celebration was an insightful presentation delivered by Ms. Taznin Hussain, Faculty cum Students’ Welfare Coordinator, who illustrated how the NSS acts as a bridge where classrooms meet community and career. The session motivated students to balance academic excellence with meaningful social outreach, reinforcing the college’s commitment to overall personality development through voluntary work. The observation of NSS Day was a resounding success, leaving a positive and inspiring mark on all attendees. The event concluded with a vote of thanks acknowledging the organizing committee, the speakers and the enthusiastic student volunteers who made the program smooth and memorable.
In the evening, three saplings ( Norfolk Island Pine, Ashoka Plant and Nahor tree) were planted on the college campus as part of the initiative.
